Frequently asked questions

What counts as a docs page?

One Markdown or MDX file in your docs tree. Generated API reference from an OpenAPI spec is checked as a spec, not counted page by page.

Who qualifies for the free open-source plan?

Public open-source projects only: the repository and docs must be public under an OSI-approved license, and the plan can't be used for private or commercial closed-source docs. Tell us about your project on the contact page.

Is DocsAlive available today?

We're in early access and onboard teams individually. The engine behind this site's results is real and running. Start with a free health check or contact us and we'll run it on your docs.

Will it open pull requests without asking?

Fix PRs open as drafts, and DocsAlive is designed not to merge. You can also turn fix drafting off and use checks and reports only.

What happens when my examples need API keys?

Blocks that need credentials are classified as needs-credentials and kept out of the docs-bug count. Running those examples with test credentials you provide is on our roadmap for paid plans.

Do you keep my source code?

No. Checkouts are deleted at the end of every run. Reports keep file paths, line numbers and short error excerpts. Details are on the Security page.

Which languages and docs frameworks do you support?

Python, JavaScript, simple TypeScript, shell, curl and HTTP blocks, and JSON/TOML validation, across MkDocs, Mintlify, Docusaurus, ReadMe exports and plain Markdown. See Supported stacks in the docs.

What if I exceed my page limit?

We aim to let you know before anything changes. You can choose which pages to test, or move to the next plan.

Can I cancel any time?

Yes. Plans are month-to-month, and cancelling stops the next renewal. You keep access until the end of the period you paid for. Fees are non-refundable except where required by law.

Can prices change?

Yes. We may change prices, plans and features at any time. New prices apply to new purchases right away, and to existing subscriptions from the next billing period after we post or notify the change. We never charge a new price for a period you have already paid for. You can cancel before your renewal if you don't want to continue.

Do you offer annual billing or invoices?

Scale plans can be invoiced. Contact us for annual terms.

Not sure which plan fits?

Run a free health check first. The report tells you how many pages and code blocks you have.
